Dreary Weather

Then the wind changed direction, and with a great rush, a furious squall thrust the dreary fog back out into the sea. The sun shone clear and the seagull circled high. But, no stranger remained, nor were there any living to be seen. Two stones, craggy rocks that pierced through the shifting sands and stood above the changing tides, their forms well known to the coastal inhabitants, waited.

Blood stained silver lay strewn about them, but those sins are forgiven; they are remembered no more.

The sea washed them clean, and the black birds stole them away to their nests.
