Flight

Escape, but escape to where? It is hard to say how long I ran, but it was not long before the darkness of night overcame me. Soon, I was blind, knowing not which way I turned. Wet and weary, my face cut from the protruding branches I could no longer see, I stumbled on. Up, my foot slipping on the wet and mossy stones, was all I knew of my direction. Up and away; away from the castle, away from her. All that long and toilsome night, I struggled, in the end crawling on scarred and bloodied hands and knees.

Psst! Hey kid, wanna buy a book?
