Tired of hearing the contention that communism only fails because of opposition to communisim:
There then appear to be an intractable problem. You may say to yourselves, “No, not intractable, if you will just see reason.” Yet, the problem remains; I am not unreasonable, for I am right. You can, if the mood strikes you, come to my side, but I have heard all your arguments, now, have grown weary hearing the same arguments day after day. I will not lie, and that’s the end of it.
Let us simply part. Reality will vindicate me. Yet even here, that is too much, isn’t it? You know, I fear, that that you will fail. If I am allowed to succeed, the juxtaposition will be too much.
And so, the only freedom you can offer me is the end of a noose. You have this one moment now. You’ve been pulling the thread, trying to undo reality by your own cleverness, your own will, your power; now is the moment where the thing comes to pieces or you decide to stop. You will either kill me, and be damned, or repent. I cannot say which is the more painful, but one is right and one is wrong.
