Janus

Janus stands. Eternity waits beyond this door. Death sulks in his corner, but love is not here. The city is dead, and what lies ahead, unknown, calls to me.

Peace was too much. We were safe surrounded by death. This vacuum, this endless void, has conquered. We were nothing without our enemies.

Is it the past I seek? Yet I look ahead. Janus, always looks ahead and behind, I suppose. Poor man. Poor god. Poor world.

I close my eyes and leap. Death wails, but love is not here. Love is beyond, and that is where I must go, Eternity.

Psst! Hey kid, wanna buy a book?
