The soul of man is foul indeed,
insatiably corrupt,
and often he is bound to cede—
How dare you interrupt?
Well how dare I not face slander
when thrown up in my face?
These words are true, full of candor—
then let me hear your case.
My case is plain,
mankind is vain,
and lives a shallow life;
nothing to gain
through all his pain
besides increasing strife.
And yet there’s joy.
We’re not some toy
God loves to kick about.
It’s not a ploy,
He sent his Boy.
God loves us; there’s no doubt.
Awesome! I will want to read this some more times to milk it for all it’s worth! Thanks for the inspiration!
