Dreary Weather

And in time, a passing stranger offered them a curious glance; pausing, his feet stopped dead in their tracks. A moment of indecision, his gaze moving from the strangers back to his destination, and then back again. Shifting in the sands, this fellow turned from his course and marched up the beach.

“What-ho!” he bellowed over the wind and distance, lifting a hand in salute.

No answer from the two men, and their stillness was a chilling sight to the stranger, who, though lowering his arm, did not stay his course, marching on as the fog swelled about the scene.
