His blood fell from him onto the floor, dripping slowly from his brow. The hammer had left a crater in his skull. He stood there, his body processing the blow it was dealt, and then he fell over dead. I turned to the others.
“We don’t have to do this,” I said. “But I ain’t dying tonight.” I pointed my hammer at S––. He backed away. A piece of skin, red gory skin, dangled from the steel head. It swung a little before finally unsticking itself. The flesh dropped onto the carpet at my feet. The other two ran.
Seemed violent, somehow.
