Dreary Weather

“Have I lost my way?” a voice asked. “I thought I saw two men here, but now I see only stones. So still, am I a fool? Have I mistaken rocks for men and images for reality? Yet God formed his image in the dust, that dust in many mediums perpetuated the sin. Are you men, then, or idols? Speak, if you can. Do good or evil that I may believe in you. Dead gods along the shore, answer me. Is this salty water the river Styx? Do you wait now to beg Charon for free passage? Beg of me.”
