Drabble: Song of David

He came upon the stage, a weary smile hanging on his face, and through his gritted teeth began to play.

O the chords he strummed, the notes he plucked, and all the demons howled with pain as music brought order into the world. He cast them all away with pleasant melodies, and drove them off with graceful harmonies.

David played into the night, singing the ancient words of truth. He played until the daylight streamed into the hall, the bright ascending sun peaking above a distant hill.

The battle won, the weary minstrel leaves the stage and falls to sleep.
