Poem: A Muddy Pool

Please Read:
A Muddy Pool

I sit beside a little pit
all filled right now with rain,
and with a sigh begin to cry
as life renews its pain.
Within the murk my eyes do lurk,
reflected strangely back,
and with my sight I see my light
is dark and wholly black.
My face is pale and out of place
within this little hole;
the ripples change to something strange,
reflecting back my soul.

  1. And yet above me stars burn bright
    Pinpoints of light in multitude
    Not one can reach the dark inside
    no matter the prayer or platitude

    Gloomy and muddy, all right. Time to open the curtains, doc. It’s like a coffin in here!
