The way some speak, politics is placed in opposition to Christianity. This on its own is strange, but when the same person is also advocating for a certain political view, it seems rather sinister. You are not allowed to disagree, for that would be politics; you are only allowed to agree, because if you don’t, you are, supposedly, not being Christian. It seems certain opinions are not political; it is only the positions of others that are political.
Honest people on both sides of an issue can love each other and argue, can find the truth through debate. If we are not allowed to have these political conversations, if we are not allowed to be political, then we can only fight each other, oppress each other, or submit to each other. Compromise and understanding only come through the open exchange of ideas, and this is politics.
What is your opinion with current politics and the presidential race, etc?

Something has to break. For too long our culture has been lying. We live on catchphrases and slogans. I personally think that the destructive nature of Trump is a good thing because the system being destroyed is evil.
Though I’m not Catholic, I think this viral video expresses many of my sentiments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-7eoTN2vNM
To put it in my own words:
At the moment there are two political parties. One is in direct opposition to justice and righteousness. The other one wants to reduce taxes. Also, there is a professional entertainer who was somehow elected to President and has brokered meaningful peace deals with factions that have been waring since forever. Saying all that, I stand for freedom of conscience, and though I don’t understand my brothers who vote differently, I don’t pretend to be God. I will be honest with them, but I will not try to judge them. God will judge us all in the end.
