2017: The End

I always thought New Years was a dumb celebration. Everything about it seems arbitrary to my mind: one day, possessing no intrinsic significance, is set aside for people to have an excuse to stay up all night. Also, as a kid I didn’t like the loud noise of the fireworks. . .

But as I grow up, becoming less worried by the colorful explosions overhead, I’ve found that I enjoy this holiday despite myself. A cold evening among friends—usually a quiet evening for us—where sweet fellowship resides, has become the staple of this arbitrary day.

Have a happy New Year, and God bless.

  1. Yeah, by inventing traditions, we invent meaning, While the tradition in and of itself is meaningless, actual meaning occurs when people gather together to celebrate meaningless traditions. So, meaninglessness is actually meaningful. Get my meaning?
