As I finish up my first full week of going to the gym, I’d just like to say, Ow. That being said, I’m hoping I’m doing some good for my body. It’s not pure torture. It’s even a little fun just for the novelty of learning some new exercises. I tried a dumbbell routine on Friday, and I am ashamed to say how pathetic I felt. I got in front of the mirror so I could make sure I was doing the form right, and man, I hate mirrors. Anyway, I only managed to do about half of the reps on the last few sets, but I was too worn out to grab lower weights at that point. Oh well, we keep fighting. Hopefully, I’ll figure out what I’m doing by the end of the month. Right now, I’m just trying to get familiar with things and form the habit of going to the gym. When I get my feet under me, I’ll see about setting some goal; I’m eyeing trying to get good at pull ups. In high school, I used to be able to match most of my peers at pushups, but I could never climb the rope or get much more than one good pull up.
