Court of the Pig Demon

The light was too great for him, and he blinded himself to the truth. The night was too long for him, and he decorated the darkness in dreams. The silence was too empty; he filled it with song. He is a dancing fool before a court of demons, a madman who cannot see the thing he serves. There on the throne, there rests the piggish archfiend who’s grown fat on the flesh of men. Somehow, the jester survives, though all who are brought into that hall only leave the place as refuse. He dances and sings and closes his eyes.
