Short: Unwanted

They left me. I understand. We were running for our lives. We were terrified. It was dark. I understand, but it still hurt to see them all jump into the car and drive off. Did they realize I was gone? Would I have done any different? I don’t know.

I thought I was going to die then. It was pretty terrible watching those things shamble up to me, but . . . well, you’ve seen. They leave me alone. I ran after the car, trying to wave them down. When they didn’t stop, I just stood there in the middle of the road and waited for it to happen. I watched as they staggered up to me, their arms outstretched, but then they walked right on by, kept going after the car. Like I didn’t exist. I don’t know why. They kill just about everybody else. They tried to kill you, but they leave me alone. Don’t know how I feel about that.
