Poem: She Makes Lunatics Cry

There was a time when laughter illumined my face
but now my smile brings dread
There was a place where we knew love’s embrace
but here is the place of the dead.

I dreamed of you in the night
in darkness I longed
but now that it’s come to the light
I see I don’t belong.

The monster returned to his lair
no one knew why
The face of the moon is fair
and she makes the lunatics cry.
