Drabble: Man vs Zombie

The problem with zombies is you can’t hate them. Sure, they’re destructive, evil, horrible, but they’re also mindless. They just do what they do. You might as well hate the wind or the rain.

People, though; you can hate people. They mean what they do. You know what you get with zombies: outstretched arms, rotting flesh, groaning. But what do you get with people?

Guile. That’s what you get. Lies, deception, trickery; worst still, malice. You can hate people; they’re hateful.

But the worst, the worst of it is that people hate. Zombies don’t hate you; they just eat you.
