Be a Man

The question of our age, it seems, is if we will be men. Are we demure eunuchs asking permission to speak? Are we automatons of flesh determined by our history? Or will we say no, I will be a man, I will speak the truth, I will love the good?

The question is, are we to exist as a self at all. Are we the extensions of some mad ideology, a collective body animated by a dead man’s philosophy? Or are we spirits seeing with our own eyes and hearing with our own ears?

Can we—will we—be men?
