Retrospective

While I have been sick, I have re-watched the original three Pirates of the Caribbean films. I forgot how much I loved these movies. Somewhere amid the plot-holes and cartoonish antics is something really wonderful. No better is this demonstrated than in the character of Jack Sparrow himself, over the top, unbelievable, and yet devilishly fun. Maybe, for me, it is just nostalgia, or maybe there’s something of true worth to be found in these ghost stories. Whatever it is, whatever makes these movies special, I found I could laugh and enjoy me-self for a few hours between desperate and sudden breaks for the bathroom. For what more should I ask?

Anyway, I’m still sick and don’t have the energy to write an honest post tonight. This will just have to do for now.
