Turning my calendar this morning, one guaranteeing a Chuck Norris joke a day, I read, “Chuck Norris cried once. The place is now known as Niagara Falls.” I hadn’t the wits about me to realize the foreshadowing, and an hour later, we received word that a loved one had passed.
It is hard to lose someone you love, and as if the sorrow was too great, it buffets me in waves of tears dispersed with long droughts of bitter emptiness.
I took my chance to say goodbye.
I hold the hope we’ll say hello
when I myself someday will fly,
and to my final home will go.
Goodbye, June. Rest in His arms.
May the loved one who has passed be at peace with God. God bless and may your grieving be as painless as possible. Ameen.
