Song of Love

BY DR. AGONSON

Soft songs passed through the unmowed field,
our music dancing through the grass;
my love and I were there concealed
and to each other were revealed.

The day was sure to come to pass,
and sure was sun to fall and set.
We watched the sky, me and my lass,
while time flowed through the hourglass.

I made for her a small bouquet,
and she wove them into her hair.
Our love was then a soft duet.
We sang a song we’ll not forget.

My love, my love, you are so fair.
Our hearts, that day forever sealed,
the theme of love forever share,
a song our lips forever bear.
