No Tale is Told

BY DR. AGONSON

So are the dreams that never dream,
the deaths that never die.
These things are never what they seem,
and yet they never lie.
I heard it once, a mighty tale,
when I was passing by,
but at some point, his song grew stale.
His new song none would try.
So he in love retold the first
though tears were in his eye
only to find himself accursed,
and so he had to fly.
They cursed the new, they cursed the old,
they cursed him by and by,
and now no tale is ever told.
No daring soul will try.
