My Books

Out Now

While the Elephants Danced

My debut publication. If you’ve enjoyed my blog and the short stories I’ve published ere now, these 15 tales are the more polished version: prose and poetry, interlocked themes, and an overarching experience are offered in its pages.

Coming Soon

Post-Mortem

A vampire turned against his will—if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, now, you’ll probably recognize the theme as one I can’t escape.

Description: Inside an inverted mountain, hidden far from the ken of man, an ancient council of vampires sits in judgement. A young vampire, the murderer of his own grandsire, stands defiant in the dock, gloating as he pleads, “Guilty.”

Eden (Series)

The books of Eden are in production. Currently planned to be a six part series, part 1 is written & edited. 2 & 3 are written and being edited. Part 4 is written. Part 5 is outlined. Part 6(+) is being outlined.

Basic Concept: An antediluvian giant builds a city to survive the flood and keeps its citizens as livestock. Join Rick and Co. as they fight for their freedom.

Possibilities

The following are not promises, merely an insight into what I may choose to work on in the future. All titles subject to author’s changing whims. Nothing below is set in stone.

The Dragon Hunters

A series of three short stories following a dragon hunter. A sort of tragedy I’ve outlined, if I can ever figure out how to make the ending work.

The Necromancer

A fantasy series I’ve been outlining on and off. A hunter gets embroiled in politics. The rightful king returns. Nothing new, just the tried and true story of good vs. evil.

Post-Mortem Continued

I’d like to make Post-Mortem a trilogy. I’m working on an outline for a sequel and actually started writing parts for a third installment because—I don’t know.

Don’t Ask Black Janus

Fox Hunt

Don’t like the title, but that’s what I’ve got for now. A steampunk tale about hunting a werewolf—or at least, that’s how things start. Vampire overlords and a secret too terrible to name buried in the foundations of the city. Can’t seem to get the outline going on this one.

Dreams of Nyar-lathotep

I wrote two interconnected short stories and felt there was still more to be said here. Hammered out an outline for it.

The Wedding

It’s complicated. A sort of anthology with an overarching narrative. An immortal sorcerer marrying off his daughter while trying to make peace with his demons, literally.

Monster Hunters

A pair of friends who fly around in their airship and fight monsters, usually vampires. First appeared here: The Point is Moot

Blurryface

My short story Blurryface may be lengthened into a novella or anthology. I have more ideas for the world and protagonist.

Dust

A haunting, childhood tragedy: a man returns from America to discover what happened all those sad years ago. He finds a madman and a mystery no one cares to solve, but he can’t let it go.

Secundus

A fantasy story heavily inspired by my favorite part of The Lord of the Rings, the Scouring of the Shire, but this time with a lot more sword fights.

Just Vibing

Things beyond this point are pretty much just daydreams.

Serial Killer Story

Unfortunately, it’s hard to talk about because I have an idea for a Slasher with a twist I don’t think I’ve seen done before, so I want to keep it tight to my chest (but there’s nothing new under the sun). I explained it to a friend who thought it sounded good.

Don’t have a title for this one yet. I wrote a scene, made a few notes, and have a very general beginning, middle, and end.

A Coffin for Two

A dark comedy romance I once started. My mom bugs me now and again to finish it.

Fortnight

An unfortunate title; I came up with it before the videogame overwhelmed popular culture. My basic idea was for the novel to take place over one fortnight. It was based off of a nightmare I had where I was turned into a vampire against my will (there’s that theme again). I think I wrote about 20K words for it back in the day. Some of the world-building was repurposed for Post-Mortem, and Post-Mortem’s world building retroactively solved some problems I had with it, so they probably take place in the same universe. My dad wants me to finish this one.

Hello Darkness

A zombie story I have a vague outline for—which is to have each chapter correlate to a line from The Sound of Silence. (Okay, it’s a little more complex than that.)

Luna

One of the first stories I ever tried to outline. Doubt I’ll ever really finish this one.

Over the Wall | Luna’s Tears | The Graverobber | Demons’ Birth

Superhero Story

Something I started many years before I was serious about writing. The ideas are still there, waiting to be written.

The Grave and the War | The Turning of the Tide | Twenty Years | Hate

The Wizard

Ritual murders, an occult specialist, and if I ever write this it will probably tie into Post-Mortem.

To learn more:

The Fallen One | Passing | Finding the Right Words | A Wizard Steals a Book for Some Reason | The Initiate | Necropolis | More of Light | The Gates Had Been Thrown Open

Masked Queen

I really don’t know what the story is, just that this world keeps appearing in my imagination.

The Doll | Willow’s House | The Keeper | The Court of the Spider Queen | Death of the Masked Queen | Rise of the Masked Queen | The Last Dragonslayer | A Shape in the Fog

90° From Reality

I bit of world building I did once. I may make a story from it, or use the ideas in another or related stories.

Three Monsters

A vague idea of mine. A psychic protagonist facing off with mind destroying cosmic entities.

Cold Mind | Project Snowball | Buried in Ice and Time | Waking Madness | Serenity | Behind the Door

Banished

A general story idea: What if a modern superhero in tights found himself in a loosely medieval fantasy? It’s a bit more complex than that. I also want to bring the fantasy characters forward into the atomic holocaust from which the hero hails.

Book of Duels

A vague concept I have about a faux history of a fantasy world that moves from one duel to the next.
