So, my father is not the most tech savvy man in the world, which is a shame. He once was fairly competent re: computers back when floppy disks were a thing. The tech world has run a little ahead of him, now. As a result, when he was trying to self-publish some of his own work, he rather made a mess of things and angered the great and powerful Amazon by breaking some rule or other. He was banned from using KDP, and now, as a consequence, Amazon has decided to play God, holding the sins of the fathers against the sons, Exodus 34:7.
So far, the end result is that my book, “While the Elephants Danced,” is no longer available. At the moment, I cannot do much about it other than send emails denouncing my father for his insufficiently serious attention to the details of KDP’s perfectly straightforward user interface that has never been the cause of my screaming profanities or throwing whatever was to hand at the wall, and pledging myself as a faithful member of the party. I will smile at them.
Yet, “one may smile and smile and be a villain.” Although I shall beg and plead to be let back in, this incident has born in my heart a desire to defect from this great, coursing river of commerce. In the future, I intend to self-publish on some other venue even if my account is restored. I do not trust all my eggs to this basket case.
Update on the Update:
I got my account back, but not my trust. Going to set something up with Draft2Digital. Also, going to go for a new book cover. Redesign. I think I made it worse. What do you think?
