So silent is the weary king
who throneless stands, though suffering
such weight that many might be bowed;
yet still he stands, for he has vowed
to be the man that his men need.
And so he sows a hopeful seed
for fruit he cannot hope to taste.
Do you think his life a waste
that he plants what others reap?
Think you he sold his life too cheap?
Then ask the servants of this man.
If you've nerve enough, you can.
Which one will not die for him,
or count it cheap, their life and limb,
to serve the one who serves them all?
He is the greater for this fall.
