A Different Choice

Take my hand, if you can.
And though I doubt, I’m reaching out
because I see what you can be;
we all can live if you forgive.

I admit I am above
That fact we have to face
but I’m not the one who tried to shove
me down into this place.

That place you’re trapped in now
which you meant for me
will not for long allow
anyone to breathe.

Come back, arise, return!
listen to my voice.
There still is time to learn
to make a different choice.
