A-ring-ding-ding!
The service bells are ringing loud.
They're ringing through the night.
The service bells, they pound and pound!
They ring with all their might.
A-ringle-dingle-ding!
The ghosts are staggering and weak.
They cannot stand the din.
The maddened souls are heard to shriek—
each for his damned sin.
A-ring-ding-ding!
And though alive, I can taste Hell—
this noise drives me insane!
My bones aquiver with each knell,
My mind is split in twain.
A-ringle-dingle-ding!
For how long shall this nightmare last?
How long can I endure?
Forgive me for my misspent past,
and let these loud peals cure.
A-ring-ding-ding!
