Alle-vamp-gory

Yet, the story prevails, it calls to us, and like a dream, we can get caught up in knowledge which our rational mind would, in perfect wakefulness, by which I mean, pure reason, dispel. It is as though the assumption of things like vampires and ghosts and good and evil and even God are so built into us that, once we get caught up in the story, we cannot escape the knowledge of the thing we do not believe in.

I do not believe in vampires, and yet, I will tell you a story. It is like the other one.
