See the Empty Grave

Now stand before that empty tomb
just as the stone rolls back;
see within death's bitter gloom
and deep, enshadowed black:
The body of our Lord's not there!
Where has the body gone?
Do not give in unto despair.
Go find Peter and John.

A gardener, or stranger on the way,
go ask of him, or beg him please to stay.
See now, a figure dim upon the shore.
Swim back to Him, our Lord whom you adore.
