Cannot Reflect

“Where we meet upon the road of fate ourselves, a battle too is met, I think,” the madman’s soft voice whispered from the cage of tangled bangs which hung from his bowed head. “That’s why a mirror’s so deadly a thing to our immortal foes. What has the vampire to say to what he doesn’t see? No, they cannot look upon themselves; they cannot resolve and change and grow without a soul.”
