A New Morn

Here is the ending phantom, fading away as a new day begins. It was a pleasant dream to dream, comforting in its way, but now it ends. A shadow is passing before the opening of my shanty, death walks away into the desert. My journey is done, and I do not know now who or what I am outside my ancient quest.

Crawling out of my hovel, I rise and stretch as the dawning day washes me in warmth and light. I am alive, and that is glorious. Death is no more, and I don’t know what will come after.
