“There is a prison,” I said.
“Is it just?” he asked.
“And he waits in darkness.”
“But is it just?”
“Long ago, I commended him to the guard.”
“If he prays, will God not hear?”
“They bound his body in chains.”
“He was once a child.”
“We trapped his mind in dreams.”
“You had no right.”
“It was not my judgement.”
“It was your act.”
“Time has devoured the guard, and the prison is forgotten by man and even by myth.”
“But not by you.”
“Only I know. Only I can free him.”
“Is that just?”
“Only I can tell.”
