My Plea

There lies beyond this narrow breadth of suffering,
if you can lay it down, a living offering,
a happiness above all that you lost;
so count, dear friend, and understand the cost.
I'm troubled on this troubled sea,
but though troubled, if I'm with thee
I care not how we roam,
for thou art my true home.
So, take my hand
in this strange land;
I plead
you lead.
