Beyond this dreary land of mist and fog, beyond this shadowy plane, beyond the world you know, beyond, I have seen wonders. Giants strut, and flying beasts rule the sky. Wizards hold strange powers so that life and death become playthings to them. Beyond here, an unreality, then, a senselessness, a mad rush for power. There is no good there, only continual struggle; no rest can be found in those ruins.
I dreamed of them last night, dreamed of the place I once knew. I was born into that fray, but in your darkness and shadows, I have sought peace.
