Old and New

Tonight, a fire, a burning blaze,
the heat's against our face,
and ancient tales of olden days
when men first conquered space.
They left the earth, the moon, and mars,
they left even a sun,
to find new worlds, and newer stars;
and here we live on one.
Heroes and villains of a past
are kept in prose and poem.
Again it's told, the awful blast,
that launched us to this home.
