Dreary Dreams

When the world went insane, there were some who saw through the lies, but over time, they capitulated. Man is a social animal. He cannot remain sane alone. A few, already considered insane by the old standards—antisocial, we called them—they thrived. When society gave up on truth, the wolfheads picked it up.

We sit in the ruins of a great empire fallen in under its own weight, like sea-beetles and boneless worms devouring the sunken carcass of leviathan. We must be monsters in the darkness this enlightenment has become. We are as men enchanted, lost in dreary dreams.
