Absalom?

They couldn’t bear the hunger. Dead in the darkness of their graves, their emptiness persisted and grew. I think they dreamed of life, desired it, and now, as they grasp for what others have, they see their own touch destroy every fresh hope that comes to them. They cannot live, and they covet our lives. Did you not notice the timid way they clung first to the shadows, and how their temerity has grown and ravaged the world? At first, they were like beggars, or even, dare I say it? lovers, paramours, entreating, cajoling, and finally, when all hope is lost, forcing. Amnon, each fresh victim is despised and thrown away. I wonder what that makes us? Helpless Tamar or ruthless Absalom?
