The Abomination

A Sudden darkness quelched the dinful banter of the square. Voices fell away into silence as the beast’s horrible, shrieking cry filled the air. A brief and weighty pall tried to settle over the scene, but a second, wheezing shriek followed, enveloping it. The shadow shrank as the dark outline overhead grew and became more distinct. What answered for the abomination’s clawed feet alighted on the cobblestone square.
