We cannot, of course, condone the actions taken by Mr. Saint. They are, at the very least, precipitous. However, wishing to avoid the same charge, we do not, at this time, pronounce any form of condemnation or correction. The most I can say in the present moment is that we will be investigating the charges. The disappearance of an entire planet under his care is a serious affair, and in consideration of such extraordinary circumstances, the feeling among many is that a certain leeway ought to be observed in this particular case. To recall him at this crucial juncture to face a hearing—well, it seems cruel; it may well retard or even prevent any hope of recovering the missing world. That being said, Mr. Saint will be called upon to answer for what would ordinarily be, without mincing words, actions unbefitting an officer. If he has truly formed alliances with certain diabolical elements, though they may have once been counted among our numbers, I assure you, he will be held responsible. There can be no return from heresy.
