Stable

Hardly any time, hardly any life,
hardly anyone, hardly any strife.
Yet working to work is a misery,
and much work is done by a bull.
I'm stable, but the stable's too clean.
What future can be seen:
When I look back, will my life be full?
Is there a cost to being so free?
Hardly any rhyme or reason in life.
If it's all or none, I'll take them with strife.
