If I had acted sooner, maybe I could have stopped all this, but I didn’t know. At least, having him tailed, we had him pretty soon after we found the bodies. We’ll have all the evidence we need if it goes to court, but I think he’ll plead guilty. Something tells me—when we walked him in, his head was high. He’s proud of what he’s done. In his mind, he’s righteous before God. I guess he’ll find the answer out himself one day. I have to admit, his eyes, when we faced each other again, there was peace there.
