Revenge I

He never smiled. He would pull his lips back and show his teeth, but his eyes were far away. Did you ever look into his eyes? There was a darkness there, like a storm, a rage waiting to break. I wasn’t all that surprised. I don’t know what his motives were, I suppose we’ll learn that later, but I knew there was death and murder there, a boiling hatred. That wasn’t just it, though. He put on a smile, faked a façade, told a lie. It’s that combination of a grin covering his hatred that I first noticed, first feared.
