Phoenix

I let the fire engulf me in its billowing flames, baptizing me as it burned away my pain. Brilliant blaze, I was a torch, a bright pillar—like an angel from heaven. Oh! Immortal flesh may ever burn! Ever renew! Ever die!

But I passed through that inferno and was clean. I have a new face now that no one knows. Indeed, I have a thousand faces now; I may always burn and grow another.

You will not find me, but I may find you. I will always be outside, watching, judging, always ready to rekindle the fire and flames.
