Palid Mask

I wear a pallid mask because I have no face,
and since you're bound to ask, I'm not from any place
save from the darkness of your mind;
I'm here because you're willf'ly blind.

How is it that you fear to look within the mirror?
Shatter my porc'lain grin and gaze upon your sin.
The shadows always flee the light,
like ignorance from true insight.

But still you turn and run away from what you've done.
You can't accept the blame; so grows your secret shame.
But I will always follow you
until I'm all that's left in view.
