Let us consider what may be the best, or the worst, case scenario. Somehow we manage to fight these devils off. We know they are not chasing us out of need—we’ve seen their farming methods—but I think it safe to assume they intend to silence us. What, if they cannot accomplish this by force, would stop them from offering us eternity, the type of eternity they enjoy, and thereby buy our silence? I do not think we should accept such a bargain, yet I fear myself the minority here. I am, perhaps, the only religious one of us.
