There’s one thing I think we should consider as regards our recent discovery. It is in a sense ancillary to the practical necessities facing us at the moment, but given what seems a high probability that violence, risk, and death are in our immediate future, we should consider the implications. We are fighting what may as well be called demons—a particular type of demon, vampires. That is, we need to consider two facts: One, these things have been fought before in history, and two, those who fought them considered the fight to be primarily or partially a spiritual one.
