Invasion’s Dawn

Upon the howling cliffs,
Under the stormy sky,
Where you and I did meet
That one of us might die.
We were the last to duel,
To hold honor utmost;
So in one way, were friends.
In such a way I boast.
For what forbid us fight
But false smiles of kings?
We joined against such peace,
For nothing good it brings.
As steel and shield conversed
Their quiet march crept on,
Their gunmen stood in line
And slaughtered us that dawn.
