Speeding Away

How speedy is the second hand,
revolving all the day;
how swift to fall, the grains of sand,
counting the hour away.

And all of time is mad
the nights and days are one
no moment to be sad
no minute to have fun

How quickly spent, the hours pass,
and no one has a clue,
that when it’s done, the hourglass
cannot be turned by you.
