I

As I have meditated this Good Friday upon the suffering of my Lord, it came into my head that not only have we killed Him but that I killed Him. I killed Christ. We often like to say that Jesus didn’t just die for the world, but that He died for each of us. So to, then, He died for me, and I have killed Him.

For sin, for my sins, this happened, man had to die. Jesus, the son of man, died because I fell short.

He still calls us to follow. He still calls me. “Take up your cross,” He says. For the healing of the people Moses lifted up the serpent. We have lifted up God; I have lifted Him up upon a cross.
