Come Back

“Some say the gargoyles cry over you. I can’t blame them. Every day is colder since you . . . and every morning seems a little darker than the last. Only in my dreams are you there, and it’s bright and its wonderful and everyone is happy, but the sun rises and takes you away. I wish I could stay with you. I wish I could dream forever. Come back. Please. I need you.”

Stones only weep in the rain
Gargoyles laugh through the pain
Nothing can wash a red stain
but love will break death’s bitter chain.

Come Back
